Robert Heim Dies

Robert Heim, a member of the Presbytery of Baltimore died on November 26, 2005, while walking with Joan, his wife of 50 years.

Bob was ordained by the Presbytery of Lackawanna on May 13, 1955 after graduating from Princeton Seminary.   He served churches in Kenmore, New York, Green Cove Springs, Florida, and started a church in West Palm Beach.  Following that service, in 1963 he was commissioned as a Navy Chaplain and served in that capacity until April 25, 1986.  He served in many different parts of the world including Japan, Camp Pendleton, and completed his service in Annapolis.  Robert was grateful for the opportunity to start a new church as well as to bring Marines to Mexico for the purpose of performing community service.

Bob and Joan were married shortly after his graduation from seminary and were able to celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary in June of this year.  They have two sons and a daughter who live in the region.  Five years ago they moved to a retirement community in Williamsburg, Virginia.  Robert’s Alzheimer’s disease forced him into an Alzheimer’s Unit in September.

Cards may be sent to his wife Joan at 1203 Patriots Colony Drive, Williamsburg, VA 23188.
