Every year the Presbytery's Mission Committee is the beneficiary of a $50,000 gift by an anonymous donor.  In the past the committee has designated this gift for various projects outside of our budget for issues such as hunger, youth and building mission partnerships among conger-gations.  This year the committee is really thinking outside of the box. We wondered what kind of an impact we might have if just one organization or project received all $50,000! To learn how your group or organization can apply, click Dream Gift.

contributions to improve the lives of the world's poorest people. Poverty-focused development assistance primarily focuses on programs that reduce hunger, poverty and disease in countries that are severely impoverished.

As Christians, we must increase our commitment to programs that provide sustainable assistance to hungry and poor people during this global hunger crisis that touches us all.  You can help now to end Global hunger by urging Senator Barbara Mikulski, Senator Benjamin Cardin and state legislators at the US House of Representatives to increase assistance to developing countries by supporting the Global Poverty Act.  For a sample of a Global Poverty Act support letter and the Congressional Directory for Maryland, click Global Poverty Act; or, use this special toll-free number and ask to be transferred to your legislators’ offices:
