Nominations/Representation

The Nominating Commitee has three tasks:

  • to nominate all persons tobe elected by the Presbytery including but not limited to officers of the Presbtery, members and chairs of commitees (when election by the Presbytery is required by the Manual of the Presbytery), The Permanent Judicial Commission, Trustees, commissioners and alternates to the General Assembly and the Synod of the Mid-Atlantic, etc.;
  • to consult with the Committee on Representation regarding the inclusiveness of nominations, advising that committee of an equitable distribution of race, ethnicity, age and gender among members of committees, and     
  • to follow the requirements of the PC(U.S.A.) Book of Order in selecting nominees. 

Members of the Presbytery may indicate to the Nominationg Committee their interest in serving in an elected position by completing a Nomination Form.  Those who are interested inserving in an elected position may also be nominated by a tghird party using the same form. *The Nominating Committee does not nominate itself.   It is nominated by a subcommittee of the presbytery Council, then elected by the Presbytery as a whole.
