Tools for Trustees

DESCRIPTION of TOOLS

Attached to this letter is a list of the resources in the Tool Kit.  The resources themselves are all available on the Presbytery’s website – click on Resources for Churches tab and then the Corporate Tool Kit tab.  You may also call the Presbytery office and they will provide a CD that contains all these files in both Word and PDF formats.

If you have other ideas of what might be added to the Tool Kit or if you have questions, don’t hesitate to contact the Presbytery office or me.  We are here to serve and resource one another.

The Session of each congregation has a responsibility to be good stewards of its financial and legal affairs.  It is my experience, that sometimes Sessions have too many other things with which to contend or have a limited sense of the issues involved.  And certainly, we who are Ministers of the Word and Sacrament have received little or no direction in our seminary education.

Therefore, the Board of Trustees has put together a Corporate Tool Box for Churches.  We look at these tools primarily as resources.  They are not meant to be burdensome or regulatory – but a help for you as you tend to the financial and legal affairs of your congregation.
