Jackie Taylor, General Presbyter

My primary focus is to provide leadership to the presbytery in refining how our time, talents and resources support our vision in addition to the ongoing responsibilities of insuring that the decisions of our presbytery are implemented through our various groups and supervision of our staff. 410.433.2012 ext.107


William "Bill" Nickels III, Associate General Presbyter

My duties include staffing the Commission on Thriving Congregations; supporting the efforts of two Ministry Groups (the Susquehanna Parish and the West Side Story Ministry Groups); and assisting churches moving through pastoral transitions. 410.433.2012 ext.106


John "Jack" Carlson

As Stated Clerk, my duries include maintaining the minutes of Presbytery; serving as conduit for official communication among governing bodies; overseeing Investigating Committees & Administrative Commissions; and working with the Gathering Team. I also provides ecclesiastical advice, counsel and education to the Moderator, the Presbytery, its agencies and congregations, and their members. 410.433.2012 ext.104


Mary Gaut, Deputy Stated Clerk   

As Deputy Stated Clerk, I maintain the rolls of the Presbytery and prepares statistical reports for higher governing bodies; oversee the Annual Statistical Report process; serve on the Gathering Team; and staff the Property and Loan Commission and the Nominating Committee. I also undertakes those duties and responsibilities of the Stated Clerk when the Stated Clerk is unavailable and I share the responsibility for review of Session Records and training for Session Clerks.


Deb Milcarek, Associate for Reconciliation

My primary responsibilities include providing staff support for the Commission on Reconciliation and two ministry groups (Uptown Metro and In The Loop) and serving as staff liaison with our four partnerships (El Centro Presbytery in Cuba, Dakota Presbytery, CEDEPCA Guatemala and The Center) and the 26 congregations of the two ministry groups. I also staff the Self-Development of People Committee and supervise the Hunger Action Enabler and Director of Congregational Advocacy. 410.433.2012 ext.105


Debbie Schmidt, Associate for Spiritual Leader Development

I wear two hats in the presbytery working with the Commission on Spiritual Leader Development to provide resources on spiritual formation and on leadership issues for churches and ministry groups. We offer prayer and spirituality resources, leader training, and networking with leaders from other churches. I also serve as the staff coach for the Bay Area Disciples (BAD) Ministry Group – primarily, our churches in Ann Arundel County. 410.433.2012 ext.150


Susan Krehbiel, Director of Congregational Advocacy

I work with congregations to encourage and equip them to advocate with elected officials (local, state and national) on issues of importance to them. I also represent the Presbytery on the Maryland Interfaith Legislative Committee supporting polices to protect poor and vulnerable Marylanders based on our shared values as a people of faith. 410.433.2012 ext.151


Judy Johnson, Ministry Group Staff  

I serve as the staff coach for the Wild, Wild West Ministry Group (Western Maryland) to encourage the development of spiritual leaders and thriving, reconciling congregations. my email address is revjudyj@msn.com.


Wanda Morgan, Office Administrator/ Dir. of Events & Services

My responsibilities include serving as office manager; providing staff support for the General Presbyter, Associate General Presbyter and Stated Clerk; assisting with planning events, obtaining caterers for meals; and maintaining the Presbytery Calendar. 410.433.2012 ext.108


Deborah Greene, Director of Communications                  

I am responsible for conveying the vision and mission of the Presbytery through our various formats, which include Tidings, the weekly e-newsletter; gatherings, the Presbytery website www.baltimorepresbytery.org; and, the annual stewardship campaign. I am also responsible for the Presbytery’s internal and external communications – its look and feel -- and I support member churches in their efforts to communicate and engage with the communities that surround them. 410.433.2012 ext.100


Chuck Brawner, Financial Administrator       

Chuck Brawner graduated from Loyola Blakefield high school in Towson. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with concentration in accounting from the University of Baltimore. He has spent the majority of his career in higher education at the Maryland Institute College of Art and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. He is currently splitting his time between tThe Presbytery of Baltimore and Old St. Paul’s, where he serves as the business manager. Chuck enjoys live music, working out, and Baltimore sports. He is most proud of his streak of attending every regular and post season Ravens home game since their inception. Chuck is a lifelong Hampden resident where he lives with his wife, Lisa, and their son, Brooks.


Laura Mullen, Book Keeper   

I am responsible for routine bookkeeping for the Presbytery of Baltimore and the Trustees of Baltimore. I manage payroll, accounts payable and receivable, bank and investment reconciliations and related administrative functions. 410.433.2012 ext.101
